Curbside Recycling Guidelines

The City offers a SINGLE STREAM curbside collection program.

This allows residents the ability to combine ALL RECYCLABLES into the green recycling cart.

ACCEPTABLE RECYCLING MATERIALS

  • Newspaper, inserts, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, paper bags
  • Cardboard boxes (flattened), soft cover books, phone books, catalogs
  • Gift, cereal, shoe, and frozen dinner boxes. ‘CLEAN’ pizza boxes (top half)
  • Milk cartons, juice boxes and cartons
  • Plastic egg cartons, SHREDDED PAPER in paper bags only (leaf bags OK)
  • Wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue wrap, greeting cards
  • Glass jars and bottles
  • Aluminum, steel, and tin cans/containers. ‘CLEAN’ aluminum foil
  • Plastic tubs, wide-mouth containers, plastic containers with #1- #7
  • Plastic bottles and jugs
  • Softcover books like paperbacks and phonebooks
  • EMPTY Aerosol cans that had food, laundry, beauty products in them

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS (DO NOT PUT IN GREEN CART)

  • Hangers, light bulbs, plastic bags
  • ‘Dirty’ pizza boxes
  •  Paper plates, cups, napkins, towels, kleenex
  •  Styrofoam, tinsel, bows, ribbons
  •  Ceramic/clay flower pots, dishes, pyrex
  •  Scrap metal, small appliances
  •  Glasses, plastic utensils
  •  Pots and pans, scrap metal
  •  Food or liquid
  •  Paper and styrofoam egg cartons
  •  Hardcover books
  •  Wrappers from candy bars, cookies, or other snacks
  •  Aerosol cans that had hazardous products like paint or oil
