Tang Soo Do Korean Martial Arts

May 2 - May 30 (No Class 5/28) 
The Chicopee Parks & Recreation Department is offering classes in Tang Soo Do a Korean Martial Arts. Come learn with Master Jeffrey Bulissa, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, and learn about self-defense, confidence and physical fitness. Children, family members and parents can train together. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesday evenings, Each session will consist of 8 classes.

Little Dragons (ages 5 to 7):  6 – 6:30 PM, 
Youth (ages 8 to 15):  6:30  – 7:30 PM. 
Youth & Adults (ages 8 to Adult):  7:30 - 8:30 PM.

All classes are held at Chicopee Parks & Recreation Dept.. Pre-registration for program at the Chicopee Parks Department.

Learning Through Play Playgroup

October 2 - (Follows School Calendar)

Join us for this new drop-in playgroup for parents/caregivers and children from birth - 5 years old. Each week will focus on an area of development and provide fun activities for children and ideas for adults on how to help children learn though play. Areas of development to be explored include: early literacy, motor development, science, beginning math and engineering.

Cartoons for Fun!

August 6 -10

Professional artist Mike Cady is back again for this week long program.  Do you like to draw cartoons?  Do you like to doodle? Want to know how to make our cartoons more interesting?  To answer these questions and more it will be found here!

Children will learn tricks and tips of the cartoon world; how to create characters, how to design and draw cartoons, and where and how to sell them.  

The focus of this class is on each individual's personal style with a lot of one-on-one instruction!  If you have never drawn cartoons before, this is the place to learn- if you're already drawing cartoons then we can take your cartooning to the next level!

Sketch books and pencils are included.  Please bring a snack and a drink.

Mad Science: "Gross -O- Rama"

Get ready for the science of grossness and ickiness!  Discover the yucky science of bodies, chemistry, polymer, germs and nature.  Discover how to extract DNA from various products, how germs spread, and find out what an owl eats through the dissection of owl pellets. Follow the human digestion process through GROSS hands on play, and experiment with ooey, gooey, polymers and more.  Eeew...... THAT'S GROSS!!!!

Oooopsy Goopsy Messy Art Fun

The works of art that come from making a mess are quite amazing! Think splatter and blow painting. Make slime and flubber create with shaving cream and glue. Design ceramic doggy banks and create shrinky-dink sculptures. Learn how to make your own clay and then sculpt super cool masks. Decorate wacky, wild cars for an art car parade. Discover marblezing and glitter painting bastik T-shirts and experience collage and fabric arts. Creative spirits are set free!

CPR/AED, First Aid & Bloodborne Pathogen

The Parks Dept is offering a certification class in CPR/AED, First Aid & Bloodborne Pathogens at the Parks Office.

The cost is $85/Residents and $90/Non-residents. These are basic certifications and do not apply for daycare providers, lifeguards and nurses. Class space is limited and
pre-registration is mandatory at the Parks office. For additional questions call the
