Tang Soo Do Korean Martial Arts


September 3 - September 26  
The Chicopee Parks & Recreation Department is offering classes in Tang Soo Do a Korean Martial Arts. Come learn with Master Jeffrey Bulissa, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, and learn about self-defense, confidence and physical fitness. Children, family members and parents can train together. Classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesday evenings, Each session will consist of 8 classes.

Little Dragons (ages 5 to 7):  6 – 6:30 PM, 
Youth (ages 8 to 15):  6:30  – 7:30 PM. 
Youth & Adults (ages 8 to Adult):  7:30 - 8:30 PM.

All classes are held at Chicopee Parks & Recreation Dept.. Pre-registration for program at the Chicopee Parks Department.

Costs: $40/Little Dragons
            $50/Youth 
            $50/Adults

Lego ® Workshop Jedi Engineering with Lego Materials
Monday, October 8, (Columbus Day)

The Parks & Recreation Department is offering a Lego ® build workshop on Monday, October 8 -Columbus Day. Jedi Engineering build using LEGO® materials will be held     
9 AM– 12 PM for boys & girls ages 5 to 10 yrs. old.

The Force Awakens in this introductory engineering course for a young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects using LEGO® materials such as X-wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire! 

No prior experience with Lego ® required.

Group projects will not be taken home. The workshop will be held at the Parks and Recreation office. The cost is $35/residents $40/non-residents. Pre-registration in person required. Class space is limited!

ART-ventures for Kids

Rain forest Tigers, Turtles and Snakes

The kids have a day off from school so join us and Art ventures for kids for a morning of fun. Learn some facts about turtles who live in the rain forest while painting and decorating ceramic turtle banks. Sculpt clay pots in the shape of snakes using the coil technique. Create beautiful jungle tiger stained glass and learn how to draw colorful and whimsical toucans. You might as well be right there in the rain forest!

Bring an old, oversized T-shirt to use as a smock, a nut free snack and a drink.

Lego ® Workshop Harry Potter Magical Engineering using Lego Materials
Monday, November 12 (School Day Off)

The Parks & Recreation Department is offering a Lego ® build workshop on Monday, November 12 -School Day Off. Harry Potter Magical Engineering using LEGO® materials will be held 9 AM– 12 PM for boys & girls ages 5 to 10 yrs. old.

Explore the magic of Harry Potter using LEGO®! Find 9-3/4, build Hogwarts Express Train, work cooperatively to construct the mysterious Hogwarts Castle, and soar on the wings of a Norwegian Ridgeback Dragon. Travel to a world of wizardry and hone your magical skills while learning about Muggle (STEM) concepts.

No prior experience with Lego ® required.

Babysitting Class


Friday, December, 7 (School Day Off)

The Parks Department is offering a babysitting class for youth ages 11 yrs. & older. The class will be held at the Chicopee Parks & Recreation Dept. 687 Front St. on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 9 AM. – 12:30 PM. 

The cost is $70/Residents $75/Non-Residents.

The class will cover such topics as playtime, behavior management, phone skills, common do & don’ts, bathing, feeding, changing diapers, fire safety, CPR review, and first aid.
