RiverMills Center is looking for volunteers to help at its congregate lunch program. Volunteers are especially needed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Help is needed to set tables, serve food and clean-up. CONGREGATE MEALS AT RIVERMILLS CENTER
Come and enjoy lunch at the RiverMills congregate meal site. All you have to do is register at least a day in advance to reserve a meal. You can do this by stopping by the center or calling 534-3698. Menus are available at the reception desk, on the Council on Aging’s website at www.chicopeema.gov and on Facebook by searching for RiverMills Center Chicopee Council on Aging.
Outside seating on the patio is available, along with inside the dining room. Chefs Anne Fountain and Antonio Catalfamo are busy cooking and baking in the kitchen for you. Below are some congregate meal site guidelines:
- Meals are $3. Exact change is required. Meals must be eaten at the meal site. No meals to go.
- Meals are served from 11:30 a.m. to Noon. However, the meal site opens at 11 a.m.
- Reservations must be made at least a day in advance by calling 534-3698, or stopping by the center. You must reserve a meal to be served.
- Meal cancellations must be received by 4 p.m. the day before. No-shows will be charged for their missed meal.
Meals on Wheels: 5 home delivered meals per week for homebound residents 60 and over and their caregivers. Please contact West Mass Elder Care @ 413-538-9020 to learn more.
Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry: Lorraine’s has resumed its evening meal program. Takeout meals are available Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 592-9528.
