**Starting Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, the Chicopee Municipal COVID-19 Test Site at the RiverMills Senior Center will be open Tuesdays only. Operating hours will remain 8 AM – 12 PM.**
A steady decline in numbers at the site led to the decision to reduce the operating days from two days a week down to one day.
This Test Site is for persons experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and should not be going to work if they are symptomatic.
For all others who may not be symptomatic but still want a test, please use the other local testing sites found here: https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-testing
NOTICE: Testing is NOT a replacement for other COVID-19 mitigation measures, like quarantining people exposed to the virus, mask-wearing, and social distancing.
This is a drive-through only testing site while the state continues to provide walk-up testing locations at other area locations that can be found at https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-testing.
*Patients must visit the test site in their vehicles, as testing will be done in their car. No walk-ups will be allowed.*
Any First Responder, all City of Chicopee residents, and City of Chicopee Municipal employees and their families can simply visit the new drive-through site at RiverMills Senior Center on 5 W. Main Street, Chicopee beginning at 8:00 AM until Noon on any of the above available dates.

WHAT TYPE OF TEST ARE THEY USING AND HOW LONG FOR MY RESULTS?
Up to 400 patients are expected to be tested daily at this site and the results will be garnered within 24 hours, as they will be using PCR tests.
PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection. This test detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms.
Turnaround time can be in as little as 24 hours from the time of sample delivery to the lab (not the time of testing). When demand is high, results can take up to 48 hours. Please look for the result email to originate from Care Evolve (it may be found in a SPAM/JUNK folder). Subject Line: Your Care Providers Test Results
If you haven’t received an email with your test results after 48 hours, please send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org and your results will be emailed to you following confirmation of information.
